Of course every kid is different, but if you've spent time around toddlers participating in a sporting event, you know that raising boys vs. raising girls can feel like two different sports entirely. I say this as someone who just returned from my little cousin's tee-ball game. Behind us, a girls' softball team played with matching bows, chanting organized cheers from the dugout and waiting politely for their turn to bat in a way that puts most adults to shame. Meanwhile, the boys' team couldn't have been more chaotic if they tried. Most of the boys were covered in dirt before the first inning was over, and half of them managed to injure themselves doing… absolutely nothing. And all the parents just accepted it like it's nothing new.
